I'M A TREE HUGGER!
You may see this email title and wonder for yourself: why is Sis Bonny hugging trees now?? The reason is simple... it's Christmas time!!! Sister Thomas and I helped out with a super fun community service project where we helped set up a Christmas tree farm! We hauled like a hundred 6-10 ft tall pine trees out of a semi truck all Saturday morning! It was a super fun service project, I got to hug a lot of trees:) and it got me pretty excited for Christmas- which is going to be weird this year being by the ocean in the 70 ° weather. Anyway there's a picture below of the project if you wanna visual.
Week 4 is in the books! To be honest, this week had its ups and downs. And I want to be honest with ya'll: missionary work can be hard! My mission hasn't been that hard by any means, but we had quite a few appointments cancel on us this week which is always a bummer. :(
Tuesday and Wednesday I went through missionary initiation (as my companion would call it) because we tried to visit some part member families and former investigators with no luck π We knocked a lot of doors and ALL of them had either moved or they didn't answer:/ we didn't get to share any messages during those few days unfortunately. We also got a referral later in the week and quickly called them... only to find out that the person who requested it had died unexpectedly πΆ sooooo ya not the best luck with finding new people to teach this week! But that's part of being a missionary! You just have to keep working and have faith that everything will work out in the end.

| Yes, we had a little time to kill this week... |
We may not have found anyone new to teach this week but I've really been getting to know the members and they're all so sweet! They also make the best food. I'm really growing to love BBQ, but I miss vegetables. I honestly can't remember the last time I was fed a vegetable at a members homeπ My plate down here is: grains, PROTEIN, and starches. That's it.
Anyway the Messicks are such a sweet family and they are going to be out of town for Thanksgiving so they had a Thanksgiving meal with us and the elders on Sunday! It was so good, the Thanksgiving food here is slightly different: mac and cheese is a staple, fried turkey is a thing, and once again... no veggies. It was also June's birthday on Sunday so we had a little birthday party for her as well. Sister Thomas and I made the most beautiful birthday cake for her. :)

| HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNEππ |
Let's get to the important stuff... President Nelsons message! Oh it was so good I hope you all had the chance to watch it and if you haven't GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW. It was all about giving thanks during all the trials we are facing in the world today. I love this so much because reflecting on all the blessings good has given me has truly made me happier and has helped me to notice my blessings more. The list of things that I'm grateful for is endless. I know that God has given me SO much but here are the big three:
1) my family!!! I think everyone is grateful for their family but my parents, siblings, and cousins are some of my best friends! I'm so grateful for all the support my family gives me and for all the good memories we share!
2) our beautiful planet! I'm usually at my very happiest when I'm hiking, biking, or skiing on a mountain and this world is seriously just so pretty and I love it.
3) the knowledge of the gospel. So many people don't know of our Heavenly Fathers plan for us and the joy that the gospel brings. I'm so grateful that I do and I have the opportunity to share it with others.
Ok I hope ya'll are finding things your grateful for because it's Thanksgiving this week!! (Even though our apartment is all decked out for Christmas we can't forget about Thanksgiving;) I miss and love you guys so much! Also I hope you're not getting too overwhelmed with the #givethanks. My district sent a funny meme about it that I'll attach to this email. Lord of the rings fans will like it π
Hope ya'll have the best Thanksgiving ever!- love Sister Bonny❤
