Week 15, 1/18/2021

Soooo many awesome things happened this week!

First of all: we got our transfer calls on Saturday! Sis Thomas and I definitely thought I would be staying in our area but...turns out I'm leaving!  I'm getting transfered to Waycross Georgia this Friday 😬 I get to "pink wash" into the area with my new comp Sis Pope. Pink wash means we replace the old elders that were there. Waycross is a suuuuper small country town west of Brunswick. I've heard lots of good things about the members and Sis Pope so I'm excited! I was not prepared to have to say goodbye to all the people here in Brunswick though 😥 I guess this is what a mission is like, you meet so many new people, grow to love them, and then you say goodbye. It's fine I'll be fine!

Anyway sis Thomas and I basically stressed out over transfer calls all day Saturday …but the rest of the week was really awesome:

We did service at the Okeefenokee swamp, which is the largest swamp land in all the US. I saw some gators so that was cool.

Andrew came to church again! We've been teaching him for 2 weeks now and its been amazing to see his knowledge of the gospel grow.

We got a Book of Mormon request out in the boonies of our area and boy oh boy....it was the most interesting visit I've had yet. 😂 We pull up to a junk yard with a tiny rundown trailer in the middle of the mess, and start talking to this lady about the BOM. Suddenly I notice this GIANT duck coming towards me, it started making this growling sound and the ladies daughter grabs a broom and starts chasing it away cuz apparently "he bites". 😳 No thanks I don't like biting ducks! So the whole time we're talking to her about the BOM this duck keeps trying to attack us and her daughter has to keep chasing it away with a broom. Needless to say it was not the most spiritual visit 😅 I was a lil stressed the whole time.

This is the scene of the crime where we got assaulted by a Georgian duck

I taught a gospel discussion during district council about faith and trusting in God's plan for us.  This is something I've learned a lot about on my mission so far. Sometimes things don't work out the way you hoped they would, but I know that God had a plan for each and everyone of us! Faith is the first principle of the gospel, everything starts with having faith in Jesus Christ. For example, I'm kind of sad to be leaving my area this transfer and say goodbye to all the people I've gotten to know so well out here, but I know that there are people I'm supposed to meet out in Waycross and this is part of God's plan.

Another great District Meeting...luv my district

There were more awesome things this week but my I don't want to bore you with all the details. Missionary work is just great, I love it so much that's all you need to know!

Love and miss y'all, till next week!
