Week 12, 12/28/2020
I learned a very important lesson this week: OBEY EVERY RULE EXACTLY and you will be happy lil missionary! Mine and Sister Thomas's Christmas wasn't exactly holly and jolly this year due to the fact that we were put in a second quarantine for the entire week. If y'all read my email last week you know that we got placed in a 4 day quarantine due to being exposed to someone who had tested positive at zone conference. After those 4 days were up we got tested and our results came back negative so we were free! After that amazing news we decided to celebrate by eating lunch with our awesome STL's, and technically this was against quarantine rules because they hadn't gotten their Covid tests yet. But at the time we were pretty sure we were all safe because no one felt sick. Anyway the next day we had some awesome plans and we were about to leave the apartment for the day when we got the call....our STL's just got their Covid tests and one of them had come back positive. We were back in quarantine for another week! 😫

Yup, it was a biiiiiig bummer to be in quarantine for Christmas. We tried to have good attitudes about it but we were pretty sad :/
So basically this week consisted of us trying to stay busy and productive while not being able to be in contact with anyone or go anywhere. (We could leave the apartment we just couldn't go out to any public places) We had a lot of members drop off meals to us so that was sweet, we doorbell ditched cookies to our neighbors, we went on bike rides, had a lil Christmas sleepover in our living room, and drove to see some fancy lights on Christmas night.

| As you can see, we are serious about social distancing...and ice cream 😋 |
My favorite part of all of Christmas this year (besides maybe talking to the fam) was getting to fully focus on the Savior. Before doing anything else Christmas morning we had an hour of personal study, so I was really able to center my day around Jesus Christ's birth and what it means to me. I am so grateful for my knowledge of the Savior and how much joy it brings me to know of his love for me! So even though it didn't go how we thought or hoped it would go, it was definitely a Christmas to remember.

Ok so now for the funny part: (we're not laughing yet but we will be) the girl we got exposed to who had tested positive only had a "slight positive" and she wasn't feeling sick at all, so she got permission to get tested a second time. Unfortunately these results didn't come back until Saturday morning but guess what....they were negative!!! She never even had Covid it was just a false test! So at this point I'm just trying not to be frustrated about having to be quarantined for a whole week during the holidays for no reason. I'm still trying to figure out what Heavenly Father was trying to teach me through it all, but I do know one thing: I will obey all the rules exactly from now on. If we hadn't eaten lunch with the STL's when we technically weren't supposed to we never would have been quarantined. The rules are there to keep us safe!

Anyway we got out of quarantine on Saturday and had an awesome weekend full of lots of visits and dinners! But wow it has been a long week, and I really hope there are no more quarantines in the near future. I have a feeling that this next year is going to be really awesome and I'm just excited to start 2021 on a positive note. I hope y'all have an amazing New Year and stay safe from the covid! I love and miss you guys!
