Week 14, 1/11/2021

 Ok sad story: I typed this whole email out and then accidentally deleted it 😑 so this is round 2😅

Anyway this week was awesome! A lot of our members are starting to recover from covid and things are finally getting back to normal from the holiday craziness. We had tradeoffs and I lead the area again with Sister Roedel. Leading the area is pretty stressful tbh, but I love sis Roedel and I feel like learned a lot from her!

Ok this is a cool story: an inactive member named Chris has recently started coming back to church, and a couple weeks ago he requested 10 Book of Mormons from us to deliver to his friends. Then on Tuesday the Bishop called us and told us that Chris reached out to him to set up a lesson with the missionaries because his friend Andrew has been having a lot questions about the Book of Mormon. So we were able to meet with Chris and Andrew on Friday! We had no idea what to expect going in to the lesson...but it was so good! We taught him the Restoration and introduced the BOM to him. Chris was able to bear his testimony about how it has helped him in his life and the spirit was so strong. The best part: Andrew came to church on Sunday! It was so fun to see him there and its been great seeing Chris come back as well. Member missionary work is SO important. Everyone needs the gospel in their life but not everyone is ready and willing to accept it.  You never know when someone is ready, so don't hesitate to reach out to them and share the gospel! I can already see it changing lives out here!

What would Elders do without spikeball??

That's pretty much it for this week. Sis Thomas and I found the BEST shrimp taco place, we played spikeball on the beach with our district, and we had a really chaotic sacrament meeting on Sunday. In the middle of the sacrament prayer someone on the zoom accidentally unmuted themself and shouted, "SHUTUP I'M WATCHING CHURCH" and the whole congregation heard them 😳 ya they got kicked out of the meeting real quick. 😅
