SCARY BUSY -
Yes this week was Halloween.
Yes we were scary busy.
That was about as spooky as it got.
| Halloween with our fav family |
On Halloween night our neighbors in the apartment across from us were having a huge party with costumes, drinking, and (most likely) drugs. They yelled at us to come join but we politely declined lol. It totally looked like the great and spacious building though.
Anyway last Monday I looked at the schedule for the week and thought to myself, "this week is going to suck" we had two tradeoffs, zone conference, On Halloween night our neighbors in the apartment across from us were having a huge party with costumes, drinking, and (most likely) drugs. They yelled at us to come join but we politely declined lol. It totally looked like the great and spacious building though. and stake conference...that's just a lot of meetings even for a missionary! But (surprise) it ended up being a really good week!

The best part of the week was our lesson with Caroline. We've been meeting with her for about 2 months now and lately it felt like we weren't helping her make any progress. She had been praying about whether or not the book of Mormon is true and if she should get baptized for a while now, but hasn't gotten her answer. We had a lesson all about temples and how everything we do in His church is centered around the work we do in temples. The spirit was so strong! We started talking about faith and how in order for it to be strengthened we need to do something that requires more faith. I invited her to set a date for her baptism and as she prays about to pay close attention to her feelings...and that's her answer! She got super excited, she loves the idea! We set a date for December 4th for her baptism. Yay! She's SO excited and so are we.
She's definitely the most genuine seeker of truth I've ever met on my mission, and I look up to her in a lot of ways. By joining the church, she'd be stepping away from her family in some ways, but she said if she knows its true then that's what she'll do.
Anyway that was the highlight of the week, we were so pumped afterwards.
Ariana is someone else we're hoping to start teaching and we almost had a scare with her this week. π¬π she's been coming to Institute classes but we haven't taught her yet, and she doesn't know hardly anything about our church. But she came to institute again and the entire class was about Temple covenants and saving ordinances.... ya we think it all just went over her head but definitely a bit much for a knew investigator! She still wants to meet with us so we're good π
Zone conference was fun but also I was a giant stressball. I was playing a musical number and giving two trainings, so it was a long day but fun. Below is a link to my song-
On Halloween Sister Morley and I thought it would be fun to prank some people in our district and brighten their holiday a bit. So we decided to make....poop brownies lol. We doorbell ditched them on their porches with a little note, and needless to say they were very successful. π it made for a fun Halloween mission memory.

Now for a more spiritual thought: lately Sister Morley and I have been studying about the language of the spirit. I've learned some very cool things:
- the spirit speaks to everyone of us in ways that are familiar to us personally
- learning how he speaks to us is like learning a language because it's a life long pursuit. We don't become fluent overnight. It's something that takes constant practice and patience.
- he speaks to us in ways that are subtle and not dramatic. For example, being surrounded by family at a good meal, driving through the canyon and seeing the fall colors, or being high in the mountains watching a sunset and feeling an overwhelming feeling of love and peace- that's his spirit. It might be subtle huge, and it's definitely from God.
- I realized that I've been having spiritual experiences my whole life without realizing it. But now as I am making more of an effort to notice when I'm feeling the spirit and what it feels like, I'm able to act on promptings much easier. I've really become aware of this past few transfers and I don't know why I didn't connect all these dots sooner.π but I would invite y'all to do the same. Make more of an effort to notice when you're feeling those feelings of peace and I promise you that you'll see God in your life so much more!
Anyway I hope y'all had an epic Halloween even though it's kind of a pointless holiday if you think about it...maybe that's just my missionary side talking haha. I promise I still love to have fun!
But I love and miss y'all SO much! I want everyone who made it this far to make some poo brownies and send me a pic. π
