| Car-less sister missionaries...how sad |
Sooo ya our car broke down last Sunday and apparently the people of Waycross are in no hurry to fix cars out here, so we basically didn't have a car all week. 😅 It finally got fixed on Friday so that was a blessing! I'm never taking having a car for granted again! The Elders in our area were super cool though and let us borrow their car so we could make it to a few appointments, and we had some members drive us around too so we weren't completely stranded. But it turns out a lot of our people live close by and we got good exercise walking everywhere, that's what really matters right?
Anywho this week was a bit slower than usual just because of the whole car thing. We had lessons with our regulars that we've begun teaching weekly, I'll give a lil update on them:
-Phoebe and Des are doing great! They're super excited to get baptized! We had a party with them after church on Sunday and ate baked Ziti and taught them about the commandments...I love teaching kids!

-Jenny is progressing super well, she's gaining a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true and she wanted to come to church so bad this week but she had to pick up her kids from out of town:/ But next week for sure!
-Shane is a former who was taught by missionaries in the past but they stopped teaching him. We contacted him and he said he had some questions for us and we could come by for a lesson. He started pounding us with questions about the Book of Mormon, the 3 degrees of glory, paligamy ect. We ended up having a good conversation and the whole time we're teaching him his girlfriend Alexis was sitting quietly on the couch. We taught them the restoration and invited them to start reading the Book of Mormon. Shane said he couldn't promise anything. Anyway we came back the next week and Alexis had read 10 chapters on her own and she wants to come to church next week! So she's money and we can tell that she's so ready to learn about the gospel. Maybe she'll be able to prepare Shane as well 😅
-Jeremy Musgrove is the inactive member we went golfing with a few pdays ago, and he and his whole family came to church on Sunday! Wahooo!
Those people are our favorites:)
Sad story: we went fishing on pday with our fav family the Bennetts. We fished for like 2 hours in the pouring rain and I didn't catch anything! Turns out fish hate me. And fishing is boring.

Besides having to walk all over Waycross, fishing with the Bennetts on pday, and teaching lessons...not much else happened.
Thought: I've been reading the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Saints all simultaneously and its been so cool! It all connects, the Bible and the Book of Mormon truly go hand in hand. And they both testify of things that will happen in OUR day, and these things are happening! So it's cool to read the Saints and learn more about the restoration of the gospel and the fulfillment of prophecies. Also another thought: its not the doctrine that makes our church the true church. Other churches teach doctrine thats true as well! The thing that sets our church apart is the authority from God that we have to perform saving ordinances. And without those ordinances, we would never be able to return to live with him again. God has set out such an amazing plan for us, but we must do our part by making and keeping those covenants with him so we can experience the blessings of the gospel! And guess what, people made and kept covenants in the Bible as well, its what we've always done this stuff isn't just made up! Anyway I would highly recommend studying the Bible (I haven't read it since seminary) its very enlightening.
