Week 24, 3/22/2021
Well ladies and gentlemen, Satan really tried his best but his efforts were not good enough....Phoebee and Desmond were baptized on Saturday! It was a small service but sooo good! Desmond was so excited he could hardly wait, they showed up and he kept saying, "what are we waiting for?" So just to catch anyone up that might have forgotten the background: they were supposed to be baptized on March 13th but they got put into quarantine because of covid for a week. We pushed it back to the 20th and everything was looking fine. But as the day got closer we got more nervous because we hadn't been in contact with Phoebe or Desmond in a hot sec and I was legit nervous they weren't going to show up 😅 But they came and their grandpa Ernest (who's a recent convert) got to baptize them. It was a super special day.
To top it all off we got some good BBQ afterwards and we ran into a recent convert at the restaurant (he was baptized a week ago), he said that he was just visiting but that he wanted to come to church tomorrow. He's really glad he ran into us because if not he wouldn't have known when or where church is. Anyway just a little miracle to top that off.

We had just a good week all around. We had lots of fun dinners with members, the one that sticks out the most was on Tuesday one of our favorite families took us out to dinner at this crazy weird Mexican restaurant. I can't even explain why it was so funny but I was laughing harder than I've laughed in a long time. From the confession booth in the foyer, to the burning lava rock that they brought the food out on, to the home made salsa that was probably drugged it was the best night ever. I felt like I was in Disney world. So if ya'll are ever in Waycross and have 3 hours to spare for dinner, you should check out El Sento Coyote😅
Anyway that didn't really have a point it was just a fun night and I had to mention it. On Thursday we started up volleyball night at the church. They'd been doing this before covid happened and we decided to get it going again. And oooooh boy Waycross 2nd ward loves volleyball! We thought maybe like 6 people would show up, but there was around 30 people there to play volleyball. A lot of them were inactive and they came with friends so we were really pumped about that. We played for a straight 2.5 hours and my wrists were literally bruised the next day! I guess I have weak skin lol. So that was a success, hopefully it will be a weekly thing from now on and we can get the people we're teaching to come and get involved in the ward.
On Saturday the STL's came up and helped us with the baptism and then we blitzed the area. A blitz is just when we all stay in Waycross and split the area for the day. So I went with Sister Frei for the day and it was so fun, I love her! We always have a good time together. We ate lots of halo top and waffles and it doesn't get much better than that. 🤷♀️ Every time we've had a tradeoff I've had to lead the area, which is kind of stressful but I learn a lot so its worth the stress :)
We started teaching Connor this week. He's the guy from the library that asked us for a Book of Mormon. Ans he is SO prepared! Apparently he used to meet with missionaries when he was a kid but they stopped coming and he's been interested in our religion ever since. He's been searching for truth in his life for so long, and he's found it now! He's already read part of the Book of Mormon and he believes that Joseph Smith was a prophet. Connor is awesome you guys. And we didn't even do anything, God is in every detail of all our lives I can attest to that.
Pretty pumped about this week not gonna lie.
Shoutout to my dad for being an old fart! Haha just kidding, his birthday was on Friday so if any of y'all forgot now is the time to wish him a late happy birthday 😅
Hope y'all have an awesome week, love and miss you guys!
