Week 26, 4/5/2021
Due to some health problems I have made the difficult decision to come home to Utah and take care of them there. So I will be returning home later this week.😢😢
APRIL FOOLS
I had to do something for April fools even though its April 5th lol. No I'm not going home! But we got transfer news yesterday and... I'm staying in Waycross and TRAINING! I get my trainee on Friday and I'm honestly so excited! I'm a little nervous but hopefully I won't corrupt this new sister missionary coming in too bad 😅
As far as this past weeks goes: it was crazy busy. Sister Pope goes home tomorrow so we spent the week saying goodbye to members and teaching a few last lessons. I've really grown to love this small town and all the amazing people here! Some highlights of the week were:
-the Bennetts took us Strawberry picking!
-we volunteered at the Okeefenokee color run
-Waycross had a SWAMP FEST and we got to go because someone we're teaching was playing in a jazz band so we went and watched him play! One of our members had a food truck there so we also got free barbecue. Let me just say that was a blessed day.
-volleyball night is always a success
-General conference DUH
One of the best parts of the week was teaching Connor. He's the guy who reached out to us at the library and he's also the one who's in the band we went to so he's pretty sweet. He's been reading the book of Mormon and every time we meet he comes with questions and concerns. And he wants to get baptized! We haven't set a date for him because he wants to continue to learn more about the Book of Mormon first, but he's been searching for truth in his life for years now and he says that he's finally found it through the Book of Mormon. Super happy for him.

Anyway it was a super good week. Kind of sad to see Sister Pope go 😥 she's an amazing missionary and I learned so much from her!
Gonna miss Sis Pope!
I'm really glad I'm staying in Waycross. When we first pulled up to the tiny town in the middle of nowhere....I was not super psyched. But as time went on and we cleaned the apartment, learned how to avoid the trains, developed awesome relationships with the members, found people to teach, and got involved in the community I've really grown to love it here! And I just know that Heavenly Father sends us where we need to be, and there were people that Sister pope and I needed to help. Now that she's leaving I'll have to hold down the fort, and I'm nervous but excited because I don't have to say any goodbyes yet!
Favorite general conference thoughts:
Taniela B Wokolo- (I think that's his name) God loves who he corrects, all of our life experiences are for our own growth and development
Edward Dube- we can overcome feelings of inadequacy by turning our focus from ourselves to others
Russell M Nelson- the answer to all of life's challenges is to increase our faith in Jesus Christ
Love y'all so much! Hope you had a good Easter, talk to y'all next week!
