MISSIONARY VACATION

The kind of cool thing you find in downtown Valdosta

I hope y'all had a good spring break, I know I did! I explored downtown Valdosta Georgia, ate THE best shrimp tacos (I say that about all tacos), had a sleepover with my favorite missionaries, and went to the beach! So yes very fun week indeed. Not a normal one thats for sure.

Wait but missions aren't supposed to be that fun right?? Normally that is true 😅 this week was super wack. Sister Pope went to Jacksonville to fly home on Sunday, and I wasn't going to get my new companion until Friday. So I stayed with Sister Thueson in Valdosta GA who's companion also went home. Yay gotta love more temporary companions! Sister Thueson is so awesome though we had a really good time together. I was there from Sunday-Thursday and we just did missionary work in her area. We explored downtown Valdosta on pday, we delivered some horribly burnt cookies to members, and went to 3 district councils! (she's an STL so she goes to all the distric councils in the zone) On Thursday night we took a road trip to Jax Beach in Jacksonville Florida where we would be staying the night with some sisters there. Let me just say: the beach is sooooo pretty! We had a boujee dinner by the ocean and I felt super weird because I've never been a missionary in a big city like that. It literally felt like I was on vacation 😅

The BEST shrimp tacos...seriously!

Had the best time for a few days with these awesome Sisters

We stayed the night with the sisters serving in the jax beach area and guess who that was: Sister Allman!! She was my MTC comp and I love her so much! That was fun, it was super good to see her and catch up. On Friday morning after watching the sunrise and enjoying the calm before the storm, we drove away from mission paradise and I went to the training meeting to get my trainee.😬 (aka not paradise) I don't know why I was so nervous. Anyway her name is Sister Graf and she's awesome! We've only known each other for like 3 days now, but it honestly seems like she already knows everything about missionary work. She's a hard worker!

Got to see my trainer Sis Thomas at transfers

My new daughter, Sis Graf!

So we got back to Waycross Friday evening and got all settled in. Coming back has been super weird because I was out of town all week, and I stayed in touch with most of our people but I feel like some of them forgot about us 😫😅 So its been rough kind of getting started again and getting in touch with all our people and the ward, but we're getting there! This is also my first time training and leading the area, so I'm definitely learning as I'm going. But I know that we have the opportunity to grow from all of our experiences, and I'm definitely going to grow from this one!

So there wasn't a whole lot of awesome missionary work this week since I wasn't in my area. But Sister Graf is settling in real nice to good old Waycross. She's from St. George Utah and she's a tennis pro if anyone was wondering.

So great to see my MTC comp, Sis Allman. Miss her!

Anyway this email wasn't super spiritual so here's my favorite scripture of the week: Exodus 3:11-12, if you're a homie you'll read it! Let me know what your thoughts are!

Love and miss y'all, feel free to mail me a surprise this week! 😅 (jk you don't have to)
