WORST BEST WEEK EVER.
I can confidentially say that this was the worst week of my mission tied with being quarantined for Christmas. And I'm not being negative Nelly, it was the worst week ever, and with good reason! On Sunday some members almost KILLED us....with food. They fed us some very questionable chicken salad and baked beans. I ate quite a bit more of it than Sister Graf, but I've eaten soooo many weird foods on my mission I thought we'd be totally fine! Anyway, didn't think much of it and we had a super fun Pday. Then we had dinner at another members house that night and that's when it hit...oh I thought I was going to throw up all over their living room. Thankfully we got out of there and I spent the rest of the night throwing up in our small apartment bathroom π¬ ya it was pretty horrible. I'm probably never going to eat chicken salad again.
So we got food poisoning pretty bad, and we were completely out for that next day. And let me just say, being sick already sucks, but being sick as a missionary completely sucks! You can't watch movies, read books, and your mom can't make you soup :( we couldn't get out of bed all day and we had to cancel all our plans. The next few days we weren't poisoned anymore but we were exhausted. We tried to toughen it out but that wasn't the best idea π also our stomachs couldn't handle anything besides saltiness and pretzels for like 3 days, so we basically went on the food poisoning diet all week! I would not recommend.
Anyway we didn't fully recover until friday/Saturday, so yes it was a rough week. We probably should have taken it easier, but we're missionaries and we're supposed to work hard 24/7 so its really hard for me to "take it easy". That's why this was the worst week ever.

Ok now for some good news!! It was also the best week ever because there was a baptism and we got transfer calls!
The baptism was for Gunner and he's not in our ward but we've been working with him and we've gotten to know him super well! He's actually the person who we had the zoom call with Brad Wilcox. And Brad Wilcox SPOKE at his baptism! He spoke over zoom, but it was such a good talk and it was the best baptism I've been too. Gunner is an amazing musician and he invited some of his fellow musician friends to play the music, music just invites the spirit so easily! He was SO giddy and excited to be baptized, you can really tell that the gospel has changed his life for the better. Besides still feeling sick, it was such a good night.

Ok now for transfer calls.....I'm getting transferred to Jacksonville! I'll be one of the social media specialists for the entire mission π¬ I don't know exactly what that means but I know that I'll be running the Facebook ads for the mission and pretty much figuring out how to best utilize social media for missionary work. Considering I'm not a huge fan of Facebook I guess I'm going to be learning a lot this next transfer! Anyway, I'm sad to leave Waycross but I'm ready for this next phase of my mission.

Hope y'all had a good 4th of July! We had to drive to Jacksonville last night to pick up a sister who's companion went home, so we'll be in a trio all week. There was soooo many fireworks! People in Georgia love their fireworks...and guns.
Here's a patriotic lil scripture for you:
"But, said he, notwithstanding our afflictions, we have obtained a land of promise, a land which is choice above all other lands; a land which the Lord God hath covenanted with me should be a land for the inheritance of my seed...
Wherefore, this land is consecrated unto him whom he shall bring. And if it so be that they shall serve him according to the commandments which he hath given, it shall be a land of liberty unto them; wherefore, they shall never be brought down into captivity;"
-2 Nephi 1: 5 & 7
GOD BLESS AMERICA πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²
Have a good week, don't get food poisoning!
