 HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! 🦃🦃

I'm not sure how many mission rules we are breaking by being this
close to this monster, but probably a lot  😬😬

Sister Hancock and I were very lucky and we got to spend the holiday at lovely members home and we even got the privilege of being on the "teenager" table. 😅 I thought I had officially graduated from that but I guess not. It was a great holiday though, plenty of turkey, ham, potatoes, green bean casserole, pie, and my personal favorite: sweet potato casserole!

Thanksgiving on paper plates is the best...seriously!

In all seriousness let's talk about what this holiday is really about. Not the turkey or even the sweet potato casserole. I think it has something to do with pilgrims and Native Americans a long time ago... but at the end of the day it's about being grateful. I think it's kind of sad that we only dedicate one day out of the entire year for gratitude. We should be grateful every day! But having two Thanksgivings on my mission has helped me to realize what really matters. And I've realized that the two things that matter most to me are my family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

My mom used to put up this giant "gratitude" poster every November and you would write what you're grateful for on it. I would usually write things like, "friends, music, salt and vinegar chips, sports, the mountains, family, movies, books, warm blankets, ice cream etc." All great things! But it's now that I realize that we wouldn't really have any of those things without Jesus Christ and his Atonement. He is the ultimate one we should be grateful for always. He's the Creator, the master author for the plan of happiness, our Savior and Redeemer. He's the reason we have our agency, and he's "the light and life of the world". He's the reason our families can be together forever and that we have life after death. Without him and his atonement, there would be no hope in the world today.

I'm so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and everything he has done for me. I know that he knows and loves me personally and I'm especially grateful that he's made it possible for me to be with my family forever. I miss them all so much!

This week you all have a homework assignment! I encourage all of y'all to think about your relationship with Jesus Christ and think about what life would be like without him.

Well I love and miss y'all so much! I hope everyone is already listening to Christmas music and getting ready for the best holiday of the year! Have another amazing week:)
