Week 67, 1/17/22
Yes, we are spazzy missionaries. In downtown Gainesville.
This week was a solid 7/10
No time for fancy introductions let's jump right into it.
Monday- explored downtown Gainesville and saw some gators at a nature preserve. (they're everywhere here)
Don't let my smile fool you...there are gators in that water!
Tuesday- this was a hard day because a senior missionary in our mission passed away last week, his funeral was on Tuesday. I didn't know him very well but he was very loved. We watched his funeral over zoom and I learned that Satan is very real. Let me explain: some people hacked our zoom link and started sending vulgar comments and showed in appropriate images DURING his funeral service. We left the meeting and quickly said a prayer as a district to invite the spirit in. Immediately there was change in the room and the spirit was very strong. It was an upsetting experience, but I have a strong testimony that the Holy Ghost really is the comforter.
We also had a lesson with Gary on this day! He is doing so good! We taught him the plan of salvation.
We then had soccer night with the YSA, and a few members brought their nonmember friends who are soccer pros. It was suuuper fun.....until Sister Hancock and I both got injured and rolled our ankles π¬ we're fine though!
Soccer was fun until we both sprained our ankles
Wednesday-limped around for most of the day and that was rough not gonna lie. We visited a few people and had a lesson with Ally. We invited her to pray about a date for her baptism last week and she's still praying about it!
Thursday- ahhh yes Thursdays are always the busiest days. We volunteered at a food bank then set up our booth on campus as usual. We handed out only 1 Book of Mormon so there's room for improvement there. Then we visited some families and went to Institute with the YSA for dinner and a gospel class.
Friday- ZONE CONFERENCE (my second to last one craaaazy) this day was amazing because I saw my dearest Sister Morley!!!! Ah I love her so much! Besides that it was just another 7 hour meeting:)
Saturday- TRADEOFFS. After zone conference I got to do a tradeoff with Sister Christensen. She's a bomb missionary, you would never know that she's still in training. We did our districts weekly car wash and had another lesson with Gary. We invited him to be baptized and he said yes! He is the most prepared person for the gospel I have ever met. He's already excited to go share it with others.
Sunday- Gary came to church and another Gary that we met from the car wash came to church as well! TWO GARY'S! It was great, they both loved it.
Monday- woke up, studied, had a sick workout, and now I'm emailing y'allπ
She's the best!
That's pretty much it. As you can tell it was a very solid week. I wish I could include everyone we met and every lesson we taught during the week but that would be waaaay too long. I'm continuing to love serving the Lord in Gainesville! As the time gets closer for me to come home I have a bit more anxiety in the work because I want to make sure that I am giving my all. Never again will I be able to devote everything I have to serving others and serving God, it's pretty cool if you think about it.
I love y'all so much! Here's my fav scripture from the week:
Moses 5:10-11
Have another amazing week, and pray that Sister Hancock and I can continue to stay safe from Covid ππ also pray for Ally and Gary!
-Sister Bonny❤
